Ilektrik
A dead-simple EV trip planner for Malaysian drivers.
An instrument, not an app. Dark like a dashboard at night, lit only where the answer is.
The brief
EV route planners are powerful, and that is the problem. They ask new drivers to tune consumption curves and read manuals before answering the only question that matters: I am here, going there, where do I plug in? Ilektrik was built to answer that in seconds, so the design had to be as simple as the promise.
What we made
One question, one screen
Current charge, rough range, destination. Three inputs in, a route with the stops you need out. Everything else was cut on purpose.
Dark, lit by one accent
A near-black interface with a single electric teal keeps the eyes on the route and the numbers. It reads like an instrument, not a dashboard full of widgets.
The route dial
A live circular dial turns charge and range into one glanceable answer. It is the brand mark and the product in the same breath.
A measured grid
Fine gridlines and steady numbers make the whole thing feel precise and sure-footed, because trust is the feature when the battery is low.
The colours
The real palette, straight from the build. Every screen mixes only these.
The small things
- Plans always keep a safety reserve, so a route never lands you at a charger on an empty battery
- Edge cases answered in plain language: "you can make it without stopping" and "the nearest charger is out of range" are answers, not error codes
- Real Malaysian charger data, matched against the actual route corridor
- Designed phone-first, where trip planning actually happens
Ilektrik went from an idea to a live product with its own voice: calm, technical, instant. It is the simplest tool in its category, on purpose.
